Fields in Burnaby have been closed on Saturday  March 4th. Except for one field, that is user discretion.


Three games could play 4-10 Saturday night, If the field is deemed playable at noon.

Sunday game status will be determined on Sunday morning, after staff check conditions of the fields.

We could have limited use of fields again.

League will contact teams to arrange possible games for Saturday.

Please be advised that BMSL are cancelled today Sunday September 11, due to the air quality. The current AQHI is 10 and its avisible to not do any sports. The forecast for tonight, and next 24 hours is level 7 due to smoke.

We are obligated to cancel all games and activities based on BCSA policy.

Starting the weekend of March 12/13 for all open Divisions (First, Second, Third), the League is pausing season play, to move over to modified Cup/Playoff format.

    

The BMSL Cup Playoffs are single knock-out; losing teams will then return to play any missing/outstanding league matches.

* The league is trying to book a field for the Final on April 2, to be announced. If this is achieved, the semifinal will be moved to Sun 27 Mar, and the Final will be the following weekend on Sat 2 Apr.

First and Second Division teams will play in a modified Rudolph/League Cup, a 16-team tournament.

  1. The top three teams in First Division will earn Provincial ‘B’ Cup spots
  2. This is a single knockout tournament
  3. Matches are drawn by pot: Pot 1 is First Division; Pot 2 is Second Division. One team from each pot will be drawn to play against each other and placed in the bracket in drawn order
  4. There will be a coin toss after names are drawn, to determine home and away teams (in first matches only)
  5. The home team will be listed above the away team in the play-off bracket
  6. Repeat steps 3. & 4. until all eight First Division teams are paired with the eight Second Division teams
  7. The first match is top of the bracket; the second match next below continuing for 8 matches
  8. All matches tied after 90 minutes will have 30 minutes (2 X 15) extra time; then if remains tied FIFA KFTPM
  9. The Cup winner will earn a spot in the Keith Millar Provincial ‘B’ Cup
  10. If the winner has already qualified for the Provincial ‘B’ Cup, the next highest placed team in the First Division will earn the Provincial ‘B’ Cup spot.

Third Division teams in the top Eight places in the table at the time of the draw (Fri 4 Mar), will play in a promotion playoff.

  1. The top two teams in Third Division have earned the right to be promoted to Second Division
  2. This is a single knockout tournament
  3. Based on League Division Three standings, matches are drawn by pot: Pot 3 is teams placed 1-4 in Third Division; Pot 4 is teams placed 5-8 in Third Division. One team from each pot will be drawn to play against each other and placed in the bracket in drawn order
  4. There will be a coin toss after names are drawn, to determine home and away teams (in first matches only)
  5. The home team will be listed above the away team in the play-off bracket
  6. Repeat steps 3. & 4. until the eight Third Division teams are paired in four matches
  7. The first match is top of the bracket the second match next below continuing for 4 matches.
  8. Matches in the Round of 8 tied after 90 minutes will go straight to FIFA KFTPM for a winner; there is no extra time
  9. Semifinal and Final matches tied after 90 minutes will have 30 minutes (2 X 15) extra time; then if remains tied FIFA KFTPM
  10. Teams are competing for a promotion spot into the Second Division next season.

 

 

Third Division teams in the bottom Eight places in the table at the time of the draw (Fri 4 Mar), will play in a promotion playoff.

  1. The ninth placed team in Third Division have earned the right to remain in the Third Division
  2. This is a single knockout tournament
  3. Based on League Division Three standings, matches are drawn by pot: Pot 5 is teams placed 9-12 in Third Division; Pot 6 is teams placed 13-16 in Third Division. One team from each pot will be drawn to play against each other and placed in the bracket in drawn order
  4. There will be a coin toss after names are drawn, to determine home and away teams (in first matches only)
  5. The home team will be listed above the away team in the play-off bracket
  6. Repeat steps 3. & 4. until the eight Third Division teams are paired in four matches
  7. The first match is top of the bracket the second match next below continuing for 4 matches.
  8. Matches in the Round of 8 tied after 90 minutes will go straight to FIFA KFTPM for a winner; there is no extra time
  9. Semifinal and Final matches tied after 90 minutes will have 30 minutes (2 X 15) extra time; then if remains tied FIFA KFTPM
  10. Teams are competing for a spot into the Third Division next season, following the creation of a Fourth Division next season.
